The Link Community Hub
The Link Community Hub is run by volunteers and development workers.
The Link Community Hub is situated in the middle of the Stradbroke estate in the East of Sheffield and was opened in 2013 with the help of the local people.
Our charity is run by volunteers and community workers we help and support people who are disadvantaged due to poverty, deprivation, and circumstances. We do this free of charge, regardless of faith, belief, gender. age, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, or marital status
We are a community lifeline, offering much needed support, education, activities, and advice for those in need. Used by all ages from the local and wider community The Link Hub runs with the support from other organisations and local community groups.
We offer regular support groups, youth groups, drop ins, advice sessions, food bank and outreach work to care and support for those in need.
What we do.
The Link Community serves our local and wider community.
- Support groups including alcohol and substance misuse support, mental health support, physical and sexual abuse support
- Youth groups
- Art and craft sessions
- Healthy eating and cooking on a budget
- Employability workshops and job fairs
- Adult learning
- Social groups
- Gentle exercise sessions
- Advice drop-in; benefits and housing advice by fully qualified staff, Police drop in, and MP and Local Councillors surgery
- Support to families experiencing domestic abuse (Solace)
- Community garden project
- Community shed
- Volunteering opportunities
- Mindfulness and self-help workshops
- Referral to local food banks
- Food share through Fayre Share Scheme and Neighbourly
- Emergency food parcels
- Donations of essential clothing, furniture, and electrical items to people in crisis
- Trips and outings
- School holiday activities for children. Holiday Hunger programme is included in all sessions
- Allocated food hub in partnership with Foodworks
Solace is a group created to support and empower women and their children, who are living with and fleeing from domestic violence and abuse. Solace comers under the umbrella of the Link Community.
